Alvin Ailey and Me Website
Alvin Ailey and Me is a public participation project honoring Alvin Ailey’s legacy, created in collaboration between the Whitney Museum and FCB New York. Audiences were invited to share personal stories inspired by his life and work, submitted in the form of open-ended letters, which we collected and archived. Alongside a dedicated website, we launched a subway OOH campaign across New York City to drive engagement and exhibition visits. Select letters were also projected onto buildings tied to Ailey’s life. All submissions are viewable at AlvinAileyandMe.org and will be permanently archived by the Whitney Museum.
